The latest John Galliano spectacle was a winter wonderland, inspired by Ukrainian Virgin Brides. From the iced makeup to the snow and fog, the show transported the audience from a stressful day in Paris to a folkloric fairytale. John said this collection was a return to poetry and romanticism, which are the roots of Galliano as a brand. John visited the Benaki Museum in Athens, to view 18th and 19th century costumes, which inspired this collection. The research was evident in the collection, from the blouses, bodices and full coated skirts, to the tinkling coin jewelery and the wood & pompom shoes inspired by sleighs. This collection provided the escape people need, and was certinly one of my favourite collections of the season. Check out the full show in High Definition after the jump.
