D&G's Fall 2010 ski themed collection was comparable to someone's first time skiing: at first you hate it, and just when you’re ready to hate it forever, it surprises you and you end up loving it, after you've spent a while getting to know it. In the case of D&G, the hatred started with the first ten looks, which were over layered, over baggy, and over-accessorized (some jackets and sweaters were beautiful, however baggy, shiny lamé snow pants quickly overpowered). Lamé, transformed into military colours, and right when i was about to write off the collection as a dud, we were in for a little surprise. Baggy snow pants transformed into real trousers, and over-layered tops turned into exquisite bomber jackets, and lots and lots of fur! Après ski followed, starting with Mickey Mouse long underwear, which evolved into smart brown and gray blazers, trousers and overcoats in tweed and velvet. Classic black and white suits were then accessorized with winter boots, scarves, and hats; proving that you can mix sporty with elegant. See some of the standout looks from the show, after the jump!
